Here is a paper I wrote for my Art of Television class with Dan Watanabe about how one TV show revolutionized the TV Industry: There are 3 types of screenwriters: scene person, story person and character person. Find out which element of these 3 is your strong point.
Scene person is good at making advertisements and commercials, story person is good at developing feature length films, while character person is good at creating sitcoms (situation comedies) or other character driven plays. Focus on your strong point, develop it, and eventually expand your ability on all 3 types of screenwriting. But knowing which area and skills you're good at is really beneficial to your repertoire to secure a position within the industry. (Concluded from Art of Television class with Dan Watanabe) |
